Registering and Installing Extra Extension Units

Extra Extension Unit

DUALjack Base and Extension units leave the factory already paired and configured for secure communications. In the event that you want to add extra Extensions or you wish to configure an Extension unit to another Base unit you will need to follow a deregistration and then a registration process of each Extension unit.

To deregister an Extension unit, disconnect any telephone lines connected and power cycle the Extension units five times over a roughly 5 second period. This can be done turning the 110Vac power on and off or plugging the Extension unit in and out of the power socket. A deregistered unit will now show a red indicator and is ready for registration to a new Base unit.

To register an Extension unit, confirm that the indicator is red. Directly connect the Extension unit to the Base unit using the supplied telephone cord (RJ11) and plug both units into power sockets. The two units communicate with each other over the telephone cord and after approximately one minute they will have decided on a secure communications code (128bits) and the Extension unit indicator will turn yellow or green depending on the Mode selected.
