A REAL Wireless Phone Jack for
satellite set top boxes
The Wireless Phone Jack for satellite set top boxes is a cable-free connection between the telephone line plug and the set top unit with built in modem enabling the end-user to order interactive services through the ordinary remote TV controller via the normal telephone line.
Do-it-yourself installation of the Wireless Phone Jack
The Wireless Phone Jack simplifies the installation process, as it is inserted directly into the power outlet without adding extra costs to the installation process. Installation time is thus much quicker since no physical phone line or electrical wires have to be installed. Just plug in and communicate – it’s simple and easy with the Wireless Phone Jack for phone, fax and modem.
Voice Priority Over Modem/Data
The DUALjack has a built-in feature to ensure that voice calls initiated from any telephone in the house are given priority over modem/data calls initiated via a DUALjack Extension unit in “C” (Computer/Data) mode.
An Extension unit in “C” (Computer/Data) mode will be disconnected from the outside phone line when any other Extension unit in “S” (Speech) mode or any other telephone connected to either the Base unit or standard phone jacks in the house goes off-hook.
An Extension unit in “C” mode that is off-hook will not be disturbed if another Extension unit also is “C” mode goes off-hook (meaning the first data call will stay connected – only a voice call can take priority).
Intercom
DUALjack has an Intercom capability in situations where there are two or more Extension units in the house. It is possible to make an intercom call between Extension units in the home or office by picking up a phone connected to any Extension, pressing any number (1-9) followed by the # key. All Extension units will ring. The Intercom function is disabled when any Extension unit is
engaged in a call with the outside telephone line.
Join Call (Barge-In)
If a telephone attached to an Extension unit is engaged in a voice call with the outside telephone line, a “barge-in” tone will be heard on that phone when a second Extension unit goes off-hook.
Up to two Extension units can be joined together with the outside line at any one time. However, additional phones attached to either the Base unit or other standard phone jacks in the house can also join into the same call (provided that these other phone jacks are connected together on the same circuit). |
